help wanted: allergy relief
I always get a little hay fever, but this year my allergies are much worse than usual. I need help! Has anyone had luck with specific allergy medications? Please share. Julia isn't even imitating my sneezing, noise-blowing, or eye-itching anymore - it has become so commonplace!

With KC having those symptoms year round, he's tried everything. He liked Claritin for a long time, but his body got used to it and it didn't work anymore. Zyrtec just went from prescription to over the counter. It's supposed to work really well (and of course remember to get the store brands). I hope it works for you. I know it must be miserable for you.
I suffer from the same nonsense.
I have two suggestions. First, go see your doctor. When I did this, she gave me a buttload of samples of all different types. She said to try one at a time for several weeks. They lasted me for years.
By far the most effective and least debilitating allergy medicine I've used is called CounterAct, and is made my Meluluca. You'll have to find someone who sells Meluluca and buy it from them without becoming a rep yourself (it's an MLM), but the stuff is great. I just ran out, and need to find more. Maybe we can get some in ebay.
Did you always get allergies? Me neither. I've been reading that it's trapped toxins in our bodies that allow it. Some sites suggest that a colon cleansing restores your bodies natural defenses and gets rid of allergies. I'm starting to think it might be worth a shot. Until then...counteract.
I butchered that spelling. It's Melaleuca. (http://www.melaleuca.com/)
Paul and I take a generic brand Claritin at night- the 24 hour kind. Afrin's nasal sprays (eww) also work for the allergy sufferers in our house!
Melody! It's Jessi Rodeback (Anderson now). I found the link to your blog off of Sarah's. So fun to see what you have been up to!! I can't believe you have a little girl. She is so adorable! Glad to see things are going well for you. :)
Hey- and we were thinking of maybe hiking boring stewart falls sometime this weekend... would you guys like to come?
Okay, I just read this post so it's probably way too late to give a helpful response but:
1) I like Flonase.
2) I know a Melaleuca distributer.
