Strawberry Days 5k

One of my favorite summer festivities is a 5k race. It just doesn't feel like summer to me unless I run a few. Unfortunately, I am not quite up to actually running any races quite yet - but that won't stop me from participating! The Pleasant Grove Strawberry Days 5k is a classic. I believe I have run it 5 or 6 times. This year I made sure to register early, as did the others. (A good thing too, the race day registration fee turned out to be $40!! Man, who would pay that to run. Yikes! The early reg. fee was a reasonable $12. I always feel like they should pay me. Anyway . . . ) So last Saturday Grandma, Mom, Amber, and Jonny ran while Dad and I walked and Julia strolled. It was very nice of Dad to keep us two girls company. A 5k seems like a really long walk when most everyone else is running!

Yes, Julia participated in her first race, and definitely not her last. I don't know that I will walk any more races this summer. There's just not that thrill that comes with running. But hopefully Julia and I will be up to the races that go on toward the end of the summer. We won't try to break any records or anything, just beat our Strawberry Days time!

I would've walked with you guys too. Or if I ran, I'd still be by your side. I'm not so much in shape. You guys look like you had a great time. It's so hot and humid here, I wouldn't advise that anyone run any 5ks.

Way to go! I am really into walking right now, but am determined to do a race after the baby- the thing is, here, they are mostly on Sundays- so there isn't much to chose from. You guys are so lucky in UT!

Fun. I wish I had lots of family to run with, I would totally do a 5K nowadays. I can't believe you even walked it. I hope it wasn't too hot for little Julia!

I am jealous! I don't think I could even muster the strength to do a 5K, and you just had a baby! Man, your baby is going to grow up doing all sorts of 5Ks and frisbee!

Hey Jonny! Thanks for leaving a comment on our band's blog. I throughly enjoyed it, and I'm so glad you came and liked it. I mean, what if you didn't like it, how ever would i make it up to you, you know. Any how, thanks for coming, it means alot you know. Oh, i don't know if melody told you, but i am going to have my band learn Sweet Child O' Mine just for you. I don't know for positive if we'll play it on Saturday at Steel Days, but we shall eventually. Well peace out.

And thanks for walking slow with me. I think it was my first Strawberry Days 5k. And to think I didn't place in the walk . . . In fact, I don't think they even cared about the walkers--no trophies or ribbons. But nice picture. And lots of eats at the end. You are pretty amazing to be walking a 5k 3 weeks after little Julia came. And yo, Jonneeee. Good time. And placing in your division. Go Rejholecs.
