I guess it's just the natural thing to do. When you are holding a baby, you talk to her and call her all kinds of terms of endearment. She goes by the usual "Princess," "Sweetie," "Pumpkin," and Amber calls her "Peanut." Oh, and of course there is "Honey." Well, the others haven't raised any problems but "Honey" has caused a fair amount of confusion around here. I guess that is one of the names I regularly address Jonny by. Now nearly every time I say it, he has to ask if I am talking to him or not! Well, I think he's gotten a little better at making the judgment himself by the nature of my voice. (I don't typically talk to him in sing-song!) Anyway, I love love love both of my Honeys. Jonny is just the happiest and proudest dad. He is so helpful and willing to burp her, rock her, change her, play with her, and get her back to sleep after I feed her in the middle of the night.
Well, no post about our little munchkin would be complete without a few photos. The following pics showcase Daddy Jonny and his new favorite 13-day-old.

This is how Jonny wraps the baby up to sleep. I thought it was so funny to see an airplane baby when I woke up to feed her and I just had to take a picture! (The next night her blanket looked more like a waterfall as it was draped over the front of the crib. Wish I had gotten a shot of that one.)The next pic is Jonny ready to burp Julia. She was spitting up quite a bit at first so we really had to take cover!

P.S. Does anyone know how to get these darned bows to stay in place? I know she really doesn't need them, but they do add a nice girly touch!

i think my mom used elmers glue on all of us and it washes out really easy. i think she might have also used kyro syrup it washes out easy too. hope that helped ya out. but she is cuter and cuter everyday i love to see her pictures.
She is so cute. I love the airplane baby. Keep the pics coming!
It looks like Jonny is a great dad! I want to learn how to wrap my babies up like airplanes! I bet Jonny is really good at origami!
Yes, I have to say, I am quite the bow pro (seeing my profession I do them a few times a day). KY jelly - the name brand. Don't just do a dot, get like a pea-size drop of it and then soak the entire bow and place on the head. Don't move her til it is dry. If you need more assistance, I can show you my technique :). I have also heard people using corn syrup - but that gets sticky. Someone said super glue - but that seems mean to me.
Oh, and the airplane is totally funny - good job Jonny!
lol @ elmers glue. I love it. Great photies of the baby and dad. Jonny, if you could post a step by step for airplane babygami folding, that would be great. In fact, you might want to start babygami.com and get a bunch of designs going.
Super glue - yikes! I will have to call you, Sar, because I have tried the jelly (Jonny saw the nurses use it at the hospital) and it just never ever ever seems to dry.
