"bigger and bigger"

I just had to share a success on this, the fourth day since Julia's hard-core potty training party on Saturday. She is actually doing very well. She is certainly "trained" in that she knows how, when, and where to go. More often than not she goes without me initiating the trip. She hasn't wet in her bed since the first night and only has two or three accidents a day. While she has yet to go #2 in the potty, I feel these first few days have been quite triumphant.

Anyway, on to today's biggest success story. Today was the first time our little toilet trainer has left the house since Saturday. She was pretty excited to go to preschool and tell all her older friends about how she is a big girl now. (I teach at my sister's on Tuesday and Thursday mornings while Gabe naps and Julia "attends" the class.)

I was anticipating a few accidents as she and I would be much more distracted at school than at home. Well, there were no accidents during class. And it gets even better. As I was helping the kids with a project, I noticed Julia was gone. In the distance I heard, "Mommy, me going pee-pee!" I ran to the bathroom to find her on the big potty (at home she uses a small one or the big one with a special seat on top), underwear and pants down, doing just exactly what she should be doing there. As if hugs and kisses and congratulations weren't abundant enough, she came out to tell the kids as they applauded her accomplishment. Pretty "awe-sin," huh?

As happy as I am for her, I am a little sad to see my previously puffy-bottomed baby grow up into a panty-wearing big girl. But as hard as it is for me to admit it, it's true what Julia says, "Mommy, me getting bigger and bigger like the preschool kids."

Ok, I will be calling you in the next couple days for your techniques...we are struggling with Jacks training.

It is a little bittersweet when they grow up, but at least your diaper budget will decrease by half every month!! Cha-ching!

I am so proud of Juju, and especially you guys! I'm sure it's more exhausting for the parents than the kids. I'm nervous.

And about the previous post. Gabe is also getting bigger and bigger. I can't believe how much they have both changed since Christmas. It is so cute that they play together, and a little cute that they also fight. I can't wait to see and snuggle them.

I'm so glad that it's going well! But, we definitely missed you at the Shamrock Shuffle. We'll have to meet up for another race or two this summer!

Way awe-sin Julia! Bravo.
I always think it is a little sad when you go from the nice big fluffy bum to a normal bum. Means they are a kid - no longer a baby/toddler anymore.

That was really amazing that she went all by herself with all the distractions of preshool. That is usually when kids forget and have accidents, but not Ju Ju. Also, congrats on the pooping on the potty yesterday. It's great to get that first time out of the way! You are awesin Julia!
