Question #1: I know every baby is different, but perhaps I can still get a little help from you friends and family. I realize all diapers aren't created equally, but she has pooped out the pricey Pampers swaddlers and the Parent's Choice Wal-Mart brand all the same. I have been using the WM brand because they seem to work as well as the others. But is there a diaper out there that will do a better job of holding it in? I know that nothing can hold in a blow-out, but is there a diaper that does a sufficient job most of the time!??

Question #2: Supposing Julia is just an explosive pooper and no diaper can keep it all in, then let's talk about the clean-up. I am tired of scrubbing each little onesie, pair of pants, and the car seat insert. Is there a cleaning solution that you've had success with? A mom in the mother's lounge at church gave an Oxiclean testimonial. Anyone second that? Any other tips? I would love to know what you know that I would really benefit from knowing! Thanks!

Emma "pooped out" pampers swaddlers, huggies supremes, luvs, and the walmart brand. The only thing that worked with her was Pampers Baby Dry and the Costco brand.
Carson has never "pooped out" cause we went straight to Pampers Baby Dry. They work GREAT for him!
I have too heard Oxiclean works wonders. I used to just soak them for an hour immediately after it happened and then would wash it. The stains always came out.
Oxiclean works for everything at my house, but it came on the scene after my children were out of diapers. Happy birthday to you in 3 days! (From Emily's mother in law)
Ok, so huggies are a total NO. My kids even WET through those! I do use the pampers flexible ones religiously, but there is really not cure for the blowout. I don't understand sometimes how it gets all the way to their hair. It's quite gross.
Yes, I'd say oxiclean works, but really, I usually put onesies on underneath every single article of clothing Jeffy wore. That way, I was just putting on yellowish onesies all the time, and they were covered up anyway. Also, not so hard to throw those away.
Just always keep an extra pair of clothes with you (or two on airplanes--also an extra set for yourself), and some ziplock bags, and you'll be fine. Good luck!!
I saw your blog through Jessica's page.. maybe you remember me from high school- but maybe not, but I have a great tip that worked well for me. My daughter had a blow out once in a pair of white tights, and it went all the way down to her shoes. Anyway- the blow outs happen, so usually I would scrub her clothes as good as I could with a toothbrush and laundry detergent. Then I would set them out in the sun, and it would bleach everything out! I swear by it, scrubbing them out is annoying but at least they stay white. There were also a couple times that I just gave up and threw the onesie away...
We soak in oxiclean and I've sprayed Dreft on their stains and pretreated as well. I think oxilcean works the best though.
I don't know if this will work for you, but we moved up a diaper size when the kids started having blowouts and just fastended them really tight. We use costco diapers and huggies. But I have skinny bottomed kids. You can also get a cloth diaper protective thing to put over her diapers if she was staining the clothes pretty bad.
My friend orders her diapers from diapers.com and says its cheaper and totally raves about it. Good luck!
I can't really stand scrubbing much, which is why I tried stain stick. If you apply it immediately it almost always works. All I have to do is get the clumps off. Then I don't even have to wash them immediately. It says on the stick you can wait a week.
Wow, you got a lot of info! All I can say is, at least you are nursing and it doesn't smell bad!!! And I hope when Julia grows up she won't read this post!
well cant help you but, just wanted to say julia gets cuter everytime i see a picture
Well, I have found that Huggies work best for us, and also moving up a size in the diaper. I never really looked at the weight on the diaper box, I would just move up a size when they started pooping out a lot. I have also heard great things about oxiclean. I love this stuff called FOLEX it is a carpet spot remover and it's worked good for me. My mom swears by biz and I've heard lots of good about it too. Maybe you could find one of those blankets that you put in your carseat (now that it's getting colder it would be perfect.) They sell thin ones at boutiques and Jessica (Bennett) Flake makes really cute fleece ones. If you go to my blog you can see her cute stuff on a blog called Taylee Rays Bowtique. If you had a blanket it could possibly catch some of the nasty stuff. Good luck!!!
Thanks, everyone! I will put lots of this advice to the test as Julia and I fly out to Maryland tomorrow. I really want to avoid blowouts on a trip if I possibly can!
when jack started pooping out of his diapers I just moved him up to the next size. Even though the smaller size still fit him he was eating more...so more input makes more output! get the pampers "flex" and you can wrap the tabs tight around her waist.
Happy Birthday Melody! Can you believe we are this old? I swear we were just 10 an making frozen koolaid cups while jumping on the tramp. Now you are 23 and a mom, while I'm 24. Time sure does fly.
TO GET OUT THE YELLOW Poopies- you must get some GREASED LIGHTNING= which Wal-mart had when Landon was a baby- but we haven't seen it there and we found it at Lowe's here. It works wonders- and I love Oxyiclean- but this other stuff is best for that stubborn poop! Just spray and toss in the wash- and diapers- we use the Target generic brand- it is great- and affordable- and then we use Pampers at night. good luck!
