After Jonny ordered and payed for a sandwich at the Subway drive-up window last Friday, the cashier surprised us by saying, "Thank you for being nice people." Was he having a hard day? Were previous customers
not nice and commonly courteous people? Hearing this through the window just before we drove away from this guy we will likely never see again made me
hope that I am always a "nice person" as I go about my daily activities, often with strangers. I may never be
thanked again for courtesy, but I will certainly remember the time I was.

Ditto. I also hope I am always nice to people. I think I usually am, but we all have our days. Nice to know your courtesy was appreciated.
You are nice people. Thanks for being nice people to me! (While we are appreciating you). Maybe I will start thanking people for that more often.
It's amazing what a few simple words can do to someone's day. Way to be nice...I am sure people appreciate it more than you think!
That is interesting. I have often felt like that when working in sales, but I don't know if I actually said it to the nice people. But they usually knew I appreciated them being so nice. And I'm pretty sure that the not nice people know I felt they were not nice also.
I think you are very nice!! I always enjoyed it when you and Emily came to hang out with Jill. Jill was lucky to have great friends!
