oh my ganache

I have a serious weakness. There is some leftover ganache that I made to drizzle over Julia's birthday cake. There are also some leftover ruffle potato chips from her birthday picnic. So naturally I have been dipping the salty chips in the rich chocolate sauce several times a day. This certainly isn't helping me to lose those extra baby pounds. But it is SO delicious that I find myself not caring!

I have to thank my friend Erika, who introduced me to such an indulgence years ago. (I believe we dipped the chips in that Magic Shell topping and let them harden. I might just like the creamy ganache version better.) I loved the salty-sweetness so much she called the treat "Chocolate-Covered Melodies." The sooner that little tupperware of ganache is gone, the better. I guess.

Oh "Chocolate-Covered-Melodies"! Those were the days! I will admit, your ganache version not only sounds tastier, but also more fancy! Good work.

And when you dip something salty into something sweet, they automatically cancel each other out. So, pretty much, Chocolate-Covered-Melodies are healthy...right?

By the way, I can't get enough of Gabe! Could he look any more like Julia? How cute! Congrats!

Mmm! I haven't haven't had that in such a long time, maybe since the days of the melodies. I actually have potato chips for the first time in a long time... maybe I will indulge myself a little...

Oh my sheesh! That is weird and I'm glad I won't try it, because I probably would love it. Pretend your baby's tummy is upset by chocolate. That helps!

A ganache convert. I am always happy tp turn people to the dark side. But I don't usually think of the chop dipping. Now that I think of it, didn't we dip chips in it last summer? Or put some on top of our ice cream/ganache? Maybe I'm making that up. I hope someday, that sounds as good to me as it once did.

You are nursing right? Aren't you suppose to east anywhere from 600-1000 extra calories? So just keep on not caring, enjoy.

Yes, Em! We have pictures of our ice cream, potato chip, ganache sundaes. It's a good thing the ganache is now gone, because we also have leftover ice cream...
