ready to run

These past few weeks I have had the strongest desire to get outside and run. I have loved running since junior high. (Yes, I actually enjoyed and looked forward to the one-mile "Fun Run" we did every Wednesday in P.E.) I don't know - maybe it's the sunshine, the recent buzz about spring and summer races, or the fact that my 35-week-pregnant body just won't go for it - but I just have the unquenchable urge to put on my dusty shoes and take off. Julia and I go out walking on nice mornings, which is refreshing. But what is walking when you want to run? Oh well, I guess I'll just have to sit tight for another few months.

P.S. This is what my fortune cookie read Tuesday night:

"Big things coming in future. Only matter of time."

Interpret it as you will, I'm just hoping we're not talking about a ten pound baby next month.

Mel, I totally feel your pain. Walking is just not cutting it anymore...I want to run, bike, and play!! However, this pregnant body and massive feet that won't fit into any shoes have other ideas.

I never knew why you loved to run so much until recently...I will put in an extra great run for you today okay?!?

Wow, that is actually a fortune. Even if it is vague. But still, at least it wasn't a lame one like, "Smile, for you never know who is watching." or something non-fortuney like that.

I also hate when there is something keeping me from my workout. But soon enough, you'll be out and about with that fancy double stroller getting a good workout pushing two of them.

Oh I love having an excuse not to workout! It gets old after a while though. Don't worry, in no time you will be running with a double stroller with two amazingly adorable kids in it!! I can't wait to see your next beautiful baby! It's going to be hard to compete with Ju Ju!

So, have you tried swimming? That was helpful to me. I did that a few times a week until the very end since running was ridiculous.
