Julia, meet Uncle Drew...

And he's back. After flights being canceled and whatnot, Drew finally flew in Sunday morning, coming home after serving in the Milwaukee, Wisconsin Hmong-speaking LDS mission. We love him! And we are so happy to have him back to sing and draw for us, make us laugh, tell stories of the Hmong people he met, and make some delicious Hmong food for us to sample. We are all so proud of Drew and his example of selfless service. We love you, Chino!

A few things have changed for us since Drew left two years ago. Okay, actually quite a lot has changed. Most of all, we've both graduated from BYU (my student teaching experiences have come and gone - which, in the thick of it, I never thought would happen), we took our big Poland trip, we moved from Provo, Jonny has changed jobs, we blog, we've nearly closed on a house, and um, Jonny now drinks 1% milk. I think that's it. Oh yeah, I guess there's one more thing: JULIA! I remember Drew being a little upset that a baby would be born without him witnessing the fun times that come along with the event. Don't worry, I made sure he received (usually via email) at least one "photo of the week" so he could track Julia's growth and development along with us. And last Sunday the two were finally properly introduced. We warned Drew that Julia might not take to him right away, as she sometimes tends to back away from tall men! But we gave her a toy while she was transferred to his arms and things went over quite smoothly, as the pictures illustrate. Now Julia has officially met every immediate member of both Jonny's and my family. (Quite a feat, as the siblings are spread out across the country.) She loves them all, we just know it.
Here are a few more pictures of Easter Sunday and Drew at home.

I love these pictures. I can't believe Drew is already back, that is so exciting!
Perfect timing to be home Easter Sunday too (of course it would have been nicer if he made his original flight).

I should hope I look "grown up", after all, I AM 27 years old by now, omg!!! WOW, that Julia is so adorable, I need copies of this photo opportunity! Anyway, I was glad to meet the child at last, the only niece and/or nephew I missed while I was away. And now, I have certainly started my own blog and posted twice already! Check it out, eh? :)

We live near Milwaukee! Drew spoke Hmong so he probably wouldn't have much to do with the English side of things, but he has probably heard of the Kindts. My husband, Kindt, grandfather is the patriarch in Milwaukee, Hans Kindt. Anyways, the connection excited me!
