It's a . . .

GIRL! Yes, today we saw our little girl squirming around inside of me! I am totally amazed by that ultrasound machine. It was so incredible to see our baby--hands, feet, and all. When I told Allyson that the baby inside my tummy is a girl, she said, "Let's open it!" In just about four months, we will!

We had no gender preference, we just want a baby! But the fact that this little "tenant" of mine (as Grandpa referred to her) is a girl makes the naming business easier. We have several girl names in mind and are at a loss for boy names. Now there's no pressure to come up with any boy names any time soon.

The name we've grown to love over the past few years is Molly. I also love Julia. But if this baby comes out and looks like a Molly, that's most likely what she'll be! I didn't always love the name and I'm trying to pinpoint when it began to grow on me. I think a big influence was the miniseries Wives and Daughters that I watched several years ago. (It's based on the book by Elizabeth Gaskell which I haven't read yet, but plan on reading soon.) I fell in love with the main character, Molly Gibson. She is compassionate, giving, honest, and brave. I guess her dark curly hair reminds me of Jonny too! (We watched the miniseries together last summer. He loves it as much as I do. Same goes for the name.)

We are looking forward to meeting our little girl, Molly or not, in the near future. In the meantime, I love feeling her somersaults and jabs!

Congrats on finding out it is a girl! You must be due the same time as my husband's sister because she just found out too!
Well don't be surprised if some of your cousins name their kids the same names- (like Cami's Ethan and Stacia's Ethan)
I don't think we'll find out this time- and just be surprised who joins our family! Congrats! Fun fun - oh is there really a baby in there? you are tiny tiny!

We can tell already that she is adorable! Also, a mover and shaker! I'm sure the 3 1/2 year difference will not hinder Allyson and Molly (?) from being best cousinly friends!
