Sunday Afternoon

We have a favorite park out in Fairview. There's not much to it, just a few big trees (which are rare in our neck of the woods) and a lot of open space to run. We don't go there all that often, but sometimes on a Sunday afternoon we think to take the short drive out west. And then we run, play, spin, climb trees, and are so glad we did.

Just for fun, I looked up some pictures we took of a visit to this park 2 1/2 years ago. (We have treasured these candid pictures, that's why we thought to grab the camera this time.) Here are a few of them for a comparison of how Julia and Gabe have grown.

I love my big kids. But I will always miss my babies.

What's been happenin'

The past five months have been full and fun. Summer went by way too quickly, Julia is now very much a first grader and loving most every little thing about that, Gabe keeps us laughing as usual, Evy is learning and exploring her world, Jonny recently made a switch to work for a company called Lendio, I am busy being a mom and teaching preschool just twice a week, and we have taken a few trips in between all of that! So I thought I'd do a quick catch-up with a sampling of pictures of some good times from July to October that ought not be forgotten...

At the beginning of July we visited all the many family members that live in Colorado. (Including the Robinson fam who just moved from Cheverly, MD to Parker last spring! So glad our visits to see them will be so much more frequent.)
First Stop: Durango
(to see Grandma Myra)

Second Stop: Salida
(to see Great Grandpa Strever and Jenny)

Third Stop: Parker
(To see KC, Emily, and the triplets)

Final Stop: Castle Rock
(To see Bill, Kiera, Sam, and Mackenzie)

Besides touring Colorado, we were busy with...

Partying with family at Bear Lake:

Hiking and Camping and Running as usual:

Looking too grown up as we begin the school year:

 First Soccer Season:
(It took Gabe a few weeks to care, but once he was in, he was ALL in. Julia was in love with the idea of being on a team and was all over it from the first practice.)

And a birthday trip for me to Parker:
(Julia tagged along, which was so especially fun. She is my best girlfriend and a great traveling companion.):
